Managed Resource

IP Select are able to offer completely flexible resource solutions, from standard recruitment on a role by role basis to various managed resource options.

The workload within an IT support team is ever changing and there are many factors that determine that workload such as a sudden change in the company’s fortunes, an increase in project work, internal re-organisations etc. These types of things and more mean that at times a manager needs to increase or decrease the team’s headcount at fairly short notice. This then brings the problem of getting a change in headcount approved which again can be difficult or at times impossible.

IP Select’s Managed Resource options take away the headcount from your team and provide a flexible way of increasing or decreasing resource based on demand. Because this is a Managed Resource solution and not a Managed Service, the control of what your team does and how your team does it remains with you. Managed Services tend to be restricted to fixed scope of works over a set term and can take away the control of the quality of service from the IT managers. With a Managed Resource option, the resources are provided without any fixed scope of works unless required and therefore the quality of the service delivered to the business remains with the IT manager.

How it works

Our Managed Resource options are fully flexible to meet the individual needs of the team manager but here are a couple of examples to give you an idea how it could work for you.

Option 1

IP select provide 3 people to work for a Voice Team manager supporting the business’s day to day operational needs. This includes problem management and IMAC’s for all of the companies Voice services. These 3 people are adequate for the day-to-day workload but the company has a large internal re-organisation taking place which means there are a lot of internal user moves planned at weekends. This isn’t achievable with the 3 people within the Voice team. In this situation, the Voice Team manager would decide on a week by week basis how many additional people he needs to complete the moves at the weekend and IP Select would provide the additional people only at the weekends.

Option 2

All members of the support team are permanent employees of the company. The company decide to upgrade their data network and need one of the Network Support Team to work on the project full time for 3-4 months. There is a headcount freeze within the company so the Network Team Manager cannot request an additional headcount to back fill this position. IP Select could provide resource to deliver Network Support services to the bank or a more specific function such as firewall management, administration etc that would then free up time within the team to manage their day to day tasks.

These are just a couple of examples of how a Managed Resource option could help you to manage your team’s workload and maintain the required level of service to your business. Please contact us so that we can discuss how this could work for you.
